Billy signed for the Albion in 1908 having been drafted in from Leicester Fosse after having only played 6 games for Fosse. Billy skippered Albion on several occassions over the next 2 seasons and produced many existing performances as he had done so many occassions at his previous clubs and scored 22 goals during his 59 appearances for the Baggies. His debut was away against Barnsley on 31st October, 1908 in a Division 2 match whereby Albion won 2-0. Billy's last game was away at Hull City again in a division 2 game on 23rd April 1910. In 1910 Billy left for Lincoln City.
